Meanwhile, Earth is besieged by kaiju attacks so frequently that it has become a spectator sport, with dojos training human Defenders to battle them. All eyes turn to Vassylisa Murderenko, a woman who seems immune to harm. But while leaders think she’s Earth’s salvation, Vassylisa only wants her beloved cat back after all felines have abandoned humanity. As civilisation teeters, the fate of Earth may hinge on the bond between Vassylisa and Cabbage Ears the Cat, who refuses to leave her.
