Being tied to the land is not only a geographical identity, but a cultural one. The bond between people and soil lives through ritual — their meanings eroded, traded for a symbolic value we return to in times of uncertainty. Inspired by the Shehuo tradition, Soil explores the movement of tradition through migration — what is carried, what is altered, and what remains. Arnaud Lin directed a film shot entirely on 16mm, choreographed and performed by Mathilde Lin, scored by Seb Forrester.
